- 1964 -Became lead singer of Jackson 5
- 1968 - The Jackson 5 signed with Motown and moved to California. Their first four singles all made US No1 hits
- 1976 - Signed with Epic
- 1977 -Film debut in the musical 'The Wiz' alongside Diana Ross
- 1977 -Teamed up with Quincy Jones as his producer for his first solo album with Epic Records called Off The Wall
- 1982 -Released the world's largest selling album of all time, 'Thriller'
- 1983 -Performed the now legendary moonwalk for the first time on the 'Motown 25 years' anniversary show

- 1996 - Married for the second time to Debbie Rowe, who was a nurse that Michael had met in the treatment of his skin pigment disorder
- 1997 -His first child Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Jr was born on February 13
- 1997 -Released the remix album 'Blood On The Dance Floor'
- 1998 - Had a daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson born on April 3rd
- 2001 -Celebrated his 30th anniversary as a solo artist with two concerts in New York
- 2001 -Released the album 'Invincible'
- 2002 -His third child, Prince Michael Jackson II (also known as Blanket) was born
- 2003 -He was charged with seven counts of child molestation and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent in order to commit that felony, all regarding the same boy, Gavin Arvizo, under 14 at the time of the incident
- 2005 -The People v. Jackson trial began in Santa Maria, California on January 31, and lasted until the end of May 2005; Jackson was acquitted on all counts in June
- 2006 -Jackson's first documented public appearance since his trial was in November when he visited the London office of the Guinness World Records
- 2008 - Jackson issued Thriller 25, a 25th anniversary edition of Thriller
- June 25, 2009 -Michael Jackson dies of a heart attack in LA, aged 50
